First of all it is nice to know that your family finally got a place to settle down. Is it new? Cause $310/w for one room seems slightly at the high side. How long is the contract binded for? If it is not long and you can always find a better one while getting use to the place.

Sydney mums are always busy!!!

Little _A: $310/week for one bedroom is quite expensive wor. We rented and lived in Hurstville before and we paid $330 for a 2 bedrooms unit (brand new) and closed to station too. Maybe you should settle in first then find somewhere better after 6 months.

Sorry for joining in to comment on the rental. It is really on the high side but I know that renting a place here in a very short period of time is very difficult at this moment. So be happy and live with it for the time being la. I am living quite close to Ngmammy, so if you live close to her, then we will also be close to each other.

My driving lesson is so far so good, except that I sometimes make your dad quite "kick hey" ga. My exam is now scheduled on Jul 5, but my performance now is very unstable, sometimes OK but sometimes horrible. You know, when I make 1 mistake, I will get scared and many other unnecessary mistakes followed. I hope that I will not let your dad disappointed la.

I stayed at home all the time (except driving lesson) from Wed to Sat, because of the sickness of Samuel and the bad weather. After today's service, we went to Darling Harbour for the Jazz Festival, cause it is free and my son loves music very much. He really enjoys it and hasn't take any nap. I was very tired now!

Yes, i heard from others that they have not see such rains in Sydeny before!......at least the water went to the catchment area so that is good.

Oh i forgot about the jazz festival! We have friend's visit today so we did not gone out. Aiya, miss the show , my son loves Jazz, he plays saxophone...............well maybe next time la.

Yes yes, $310 is expensive for me, and the most "kick hey" is the landlord asks us to pay 6 mths in advance. Michelle, we know it is an unfair deal, the agent will state that the arrangement is "requested" by tenant so that the landlord is not liable.

I don't know if it's a new apartment or not. The building is in Railway Road, is it close to Ngmammy & Joe?? I think at the moment, the greatest advantage is that I close to you all. This makes me not feeling very very strange.

Next Sunday la. From 1:30 to 3pm, there will be Congress Hall Brass Band (Salvation Army's best brass bands - so called) at Darling Harbour which is free.

I checked that Railway PDE is very long. It's a road beside railway that spread across several railway stations. Maybe you need to specify which station or street your apartment most near to before we can tell you whether we are close. But since you are in Hurstville, it shouldn't be too far away. Glad to know that it makes you feel more secure. BTW, when will you arrive?

I think it should be very close to Hurstville Railway Station and Westfield Shoppingtown (a big shopping mall). Should be around 15 min walk to ngmammy house and 20-25 min walk to mine. Correct me if I am wrong, ngmammy.

No idea on safe or not.

Oh, 1 more week to go, should be very exciting!

"yiu chu" should be OK, "fa kow" not sure. Maybe other mammies will know more.

Things here to me are all very expensive. But with only 40kg, I don't think you can bring to much.

The weather has been great for the last few days, hope Samuel enjoys the sunshine outside.

For my birthday, ngdaddy and I went out for dinner the night before and then we have a little party with the kids on my birthday night. We also invited my sister's family as well...was good fun.

My son's friends are coming to play this Sunday afternoon so we probably can not make it for the show at Darlinghour :cry:

What two days that Samuel goes to pre-school, we can meet outside for a coffee or something? or perhaps our Kogarah lunch?
