I knew about the Firefighters carnival 競技大賽 a week ago when there was an opening ceremony (did you hear of the race re climbing the stairs of IFC ?) and then there was some discussion about there being a free 4R Canon photo session from 自由報料。 But there was no info on the opening / closing hours from the official website.
So last Sat after my son's ECA ended at 3:30pm we went to Tamar to see if it was still on, 搏一搏and ended up 連汁都撈埋。
I think the event is held once a year, but in diff cities.
Don't :-( la, there's usually some opening day for fire stations / police stations / Stanley prison / PLA barracks each year. Need to watch out for them. Let you know next time there's a similar event.
Actually some district / NGO youth centres arrange visits to fire stations / police stations during summer ga, only need to pay for transport. My son joined one such trip to the firefighters training school last summer, only $30, arranged by HKSociety for the Protection of Children (near Kai Tak area). If you are interested in this one will let you know when their summer schedule is available. There was also a visit to some police station or training school, but time didn't fit so my son couldn't go. At least there are such ECAs around.

For 3 weeks last summer, I only had the use of an ancient dinosaur PC and 56K modem, and had to chase up 6-7 pages per day !! It took about 2 mins for each page to appear, and my posts were usually eaten up (perhaps timeout), also could not access pm. It was so dxxx frustrating. So be thankful that you now have BB.
