You're most welcome. Actually I did nothing but copy and paste the article from Mingpao's website la.

I also have some flash card at home but I seldom show them to my son mainly because he is not interested in it.

btw, I let my son to attend KinderU Little Genius course before of which it is focus on "stimulating children's right brain". However, as the couse fee is too expensive for me (almost $220 per hour

), so I quit after finishing a term.

I know the flash card method was proposed by Glenn Doman in the 60's. If it is really that useful, I cannot see the point why this method still cannot be popularly adopted during these 40 years.

I agree with the saying that "真正的學習不在於學了多少個字，而在於是否建立到一個孩子將來可思考和分析得更好的平台。0至3歲孩子學習時不應以符號先行，應重以五感接觸外界信息，從而刺激腦細胞的發展。腦細胞會產生突觸（synapse，神經細胞相互間的接合點）互相結成網絡，而人就是通過這網絡去記憶、思考和學習。"

Yesterday, I played 猜动物 with my son. I showed him the name of an animal in Eng and Chin at a time, then described the features of that animal and asked him to make a guess. He guessed correctly most of the time and loved the game. It is less boring than just flash flash flash.

I buy the idea of teaching kids of Chinese word by breaking them up than just asking the kid to recognise the character. Thanks indeed for sharing.

www.bookcloseouts.com has 'warehouse closure sale' again. I ordered 10 books. Some books have 90% off. Go there for book hunting.

I have calculated that the delivery cost is equal to almost 2 times of the book price. So, unless there is MORE than 50% off indicated, the books might not be worth buying there. That is the discounted price + delivery = the cost you buy in HK (bearing in mind the forex rate difference!!).

I order the Critter joke there...

Dear Kittylock,
Frankly, my son is not particularly fond of flash card but he is simply not resistent. I agree to the article that it is not the only method. Parents should do much more than just 'flash cards' to make the best out of it and all other methods. In other words, flash card method is good supplement to all other activities (games/ toys/reading/ story telling/ Legx playing/ puzzle games/ arts/ drawing/ music instruments/ poem/ sport/outing... an endless list....) and vice versa. Agree that flash card approach cannot be used alone or perhaps over-used. It really works in stimulating the young folks' brains - right brain training. That's why I appreciate all those moms making their flash cards/ powerpoint in another forums. They are full of vision and mission and are so committed to their kids. I think here all book hunter moms are equally good ones whether or not using flash cards la. Agree?

Since my kid still 'accept' my flash-card/ ppt session with him, I will continue to maximize the benefits for him.

As for K-U, I just black list it after the trial lesson (at my cost of HK$180+

) for obvious reasons (perhaps you know too).

日本著名绘本家——芭蕉绿所绘撰的这套绘本，可算得上是绘本中的经典，在日本多年来一直受到孩子们的喜爱。

这套绘本共7本，每一本都是小主人公——提姆、莎兰发生在日常生活中的可爱、纯真、或者感人的小故事，让人仿佛真的与他们生活在一起，并被他们的善良与真纯澄净的心灵的感动。

尤其值得一提的是，该套绘本色彩明快，且笔法细腻，非常适合2-7岁的学龄前儿童翻阅，或者躺在母亲怀中聆听。

它对于培养孩子的喜美爱善的天性，具有非常有益的帮助。

I disappear the whole day because I took my son to attend the hand printing activity organized by Green Power today. My son was so excited that there were over 3000 kids joining the hand printing at Discovery Plaza. They made the largest hand printing picture and this picture will post outside the New World Centre later.

There is 1 complete set of Little Critter only (Levels 1 - 3, total 12 books), $38x after discount, must buy in complete set. Another single book of Little Critter. But the character is too mad-looking and I don't want my son to look like Little Critter. He is mad enough already.

Why you all can response to my message in a minute?

Did your son love Critter? Once I showed the Critter Readers to my son a day ago, he couldn't stop. He finished reading 12 books at a time. Because, all the stories are funny.

Bluestar=> Level 1 seems too simple for my son bor! How about you? Anyway, he loves the character of Critter. I'm considering to buy other Critter joke book for him (those recommened by Gloria!!!) Same as you. I'm afraid that my son will be as "mad" as Critter. Have you read the "Helping Mom"? That's really crazy!!

I bought The bookstore ghost (puffin Easy to read level 2 ) last year's sale at US$0.99 (75% off) and now the price is still US$1.99 (50% off).

Only the books you find in the inventory reduction sale list are really on sale now.
