1. Shall we bring the maid to open a bank account for salary deposit?
ANS:{Not necessary especially for the first few months. Because she may need to pay her loans and won't have enough balance to sustain the bank account with bank charges. You agent should advice you on this.}

2. Do we need to provide her personal care products like shampoo, toothpaste, soap, sanitary pads etc. or she should buy on her own money?
ANS:{Employer will have to provide all this.}

3. Shall we request maid to separate her laundries with ours?
ANS:{Yes, you can instruct her not to mix her laundries with your families.}

4. I found there are rules & regulations to maid available from agency, shall we provide the rules to our maid when she arrived the first day?
ANS:{Its up to you as long as the conditions are within the allowed Hong Kong regulations.}

5. What kind of important message that we should talk to the maid on her first day?
ANS:{Mainly your house rules (if any), safety, schedules etc. It differs from every family.}

I am quite worry on training a maid as I have no experience. Also, my baby will be delivered in end-Dec so I hope she can be a self-disciplined maid.
ANS:{If you don't know how to handle when problem arises, ask your agent or post here. Don't worry too much.}

~How many days the OEC will issue?

個問題係間AGENT自己跟得唔夠貼, 成4個月個工人都比唔到錢都唔通知我轉過個, 佢地間AGENT要工人比曬錢先可來. 入境處批好曬O的文件都成個月都未攪好個工人, 到我CONFIRM 日子話來都有兩個星期都唔話我知件事, 到來前一日先話個工人未比錢, 你話係咪比佢激死, 我仲拿曬假等工人, 點知一日拖一日, 仲要講大話,27日時朝早話工人比曬錢可以BOOK機票, 夜晚話無講過,又叫我再等(唔通我已經有精神分裂),等到星期一,星期一連電話都無個,唔追都唔回,之後打比佢話個STAFF放了假8日先返, 咁又話老板會覆,又無覆,打回來又話工人得, 再同佢講,又係度講大話, 又叫我等, 我只叫佢REFUND 唔再等啦,真係人都顛, 跟住話5日覆我又無覆,你話乜AGENT 來呀, 前日叫番另一個STAFF話我知個工人CANCEL 唔來,兩個WEEK 啦, 而家佢地話可REFUND 但要扣我我$800 VISA費用. 我唸佢地公司都唔負責番, 全部都要我負責, 假期不在話, 我個B咁細,我而家仲要返工, 本來飲開人奶都飲唔到, 攪到而家可能要睇精神科醫生TIM.

有無得Fully refund係事乎你同Agent之間所簽署既協議，所以我答你唔倒可否refund。但你可向消費者委員會投訴或向各大週刊投訢，睇下可否還你公道。

你試下平心靜氣同Agent傾下，睇下工人夠景可以幾時到，我相信Agent都好 ...

自己初次請工人(印印), 好多野都唔識唔知點做好….

水果, 汽水, 飲品是否需要提供俾佢? 因為佢自己steam 我地d coffee 飲

早餐買左鮮奶/麪包俾佢, 又時食時唔食, 都唔知預唔預佢好?
- 好似沒有日日沖涼, 是否可以話佢?

Questions about how to fire a maid

My Bun Bun just come to our house 2 weeks ago, but she has no experience in working in a City, and don't know how to take care the new born baby, we have guided her many times and she still have no improvement, now my wife are going to fire her and i would like to have the procedures and the relative compensation, do I need to compensate if she hasn't work for more than 1 month? or i just need to compensate 2 weeks salary? please advice or send me some guidelines [email protected]

if 我要佢簽了僱庸守則,
但又破壞了其中一項, 亦出警告信警告過佢3次以上,
敢係咪可以即炒而唔洗補一個月人工比佢呢?
因為我不明白為何要佢地簽僱庸守則/rules and regulations 呢份野, thank you so much

Dear mrsrose,

I've signed a local bun bun (she's a finished contract one)and handed the contract to the Immigration on 8 Oct. How long will the processing take? As I need her service urgently, what can I do to speed up the process? Will writing letters to the ImmD help or should I call the ImmD and tell them my difficulty?

It will exempts them from payment of the Philippine travel tax and airport terminal fees in the Philippines. Without the OEC, all the travel and airport terminal fee in Philippines will be bear by the employer.

You maid can apply all by herself at the Philippines Consulate and can be process and collected on the same day. Cost is only HK$32 and should be bear by you.

我好明白你既感受，唔好激親自己唔直得。我知所以會開呢個信箱，就係希望可以幫倒大家，唔好一味俾D無良Agent點。如你有需要既話PM手電俾我再傾。

ANS:{法例無話要提供水果, 汽水, 及coffee。你不防開心見成同佢講清楚，咩野可以食同咩野唔可以食}

ANS:{你有提供已可，唔駛理佢食唔食。好人D就俾幾蚊佢自已買早餐/麪包}

You will need to pay her days of service with you (2 weeks) plus 1 month notice in lieu by cash. I will email you the required information.

The announced period for visa processing is around 6 weeks.

You will receive a white card in your mail soon. Within you will find your file number VCAxxxxxx. Using the VCA number as reference, you can write a letter requesting urgent process. Bring the letter personally to the 6th Floor counter 21 to see the officer to submit and explain to the officer your reasons.

菲傭昨天第一天上工, 我要求收起她的passport, 她今早8:00am說回宿舍去拿, 至今18:30pm 仍未回來, 並透過 Agent 說不想把 passport 交給我, 現仍在宿舍, 我可如何? 可否指她曠工?

法例從來無講，出警告信警告過工人3次或以上，就可以即炒而唔洗補一個月人工比工人。至於簽僱庸守則，係法律上亦唔係好有用，當然白字黑字寫清楚都有好處，要工人知你既家規，等佢唔洗扮唔明/知。
