I fired my Indonesia maid .on 12-10-2007. The
agent came to my home and and informed the
maid of the termination. She then packed her
belongings and we went to the agent's office
to proceed with the documents. I bought an air
ticket (open until 25-10-2007) for the maid and
got the terminationpayment(total $7140) ready.
Once she heard the agent telling her to repay her
loan to the finance company (she only worked for
me for six months and she has not yet paid her
6th instalment of $3000), she refused to take the
money and air ticket. She ran away leaving all
her belongings behind. Later in the day, the agent
traced her by phone abd found that she had gone
to the Labour Tribunal. She has not showed up
so far. So I left the money and the air ticket with
the agent and got back a receipt.
I am sure she is filing a case against me at the
moment. I want to know :
1. what she could possibly charge me of;
2. when I will be notified of the case by the
Labour Tribunal;
3. what kind of preparation work I have to take;
4. whether I have to buy the maid another air
ticket if the case cannot be closed by
25-10-2007 (the expiry date of the present
air ticket). If yes, why? It's she refused to
take when I gave to her upon termination.
