I think Dell is fine. My advice is whatever model you choose, if Vista is used, upgrade to at least 2GB of RAM so that you should have decent performance.

If budget possible, Toshiba is a good choice. A100. Great display and long term to use.

$10,000 有好多選擇, 不過有好多人唔建議買 Dell.

我自己用更Toshiba感覺不錯. 但是要行VISTA, RAM 一定要有2GB. 更記者!

Thanks....so any good suggestion...$10K is the max. budget....of coz lower the cost is better

ic, I saw their promotion package too......but I don't want to upgrade to 2GB RAM.....so better install Window instead ?

I have tried different brand notebook over the years and i honestly think you can get pretty good value for your money from Dell.

I must say that the after-sales service from Dell is really good and that's why I am happy to use their computer once again. I honestly doubt any other brand's computer or shop would provide such a good after-sales service. I had a problem with my last note book and it was still within the warranty, I contacted the service department and they actually sent a technician and the spare part to come to my house to fix it and I had no problem with it until I went for a up-grade with a new one.

The best of all is you can get what you want according to your budget anyway.

but i use M700 which is now discontinued. you have to choose the XPS (12 inch wide screen)

I strongly recommend to buy DELL, both because of its after-sales service and price/performance/mobility(weight) . I am an IT administrator and need to travel occasionally to other countries for business purpose. I just order a DELL Inspiron 6400 with the following hardware configuration: CPU:Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB ; RAM: 2x512MB (Total 1GB); 120 GB Hard Disk, 15.4" WideScreen XGA+ (1440x900 resolutions); OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (English Ed.) ;additional purchase: Bluetooth module, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR Stereo headset (for skype wireless connection and enjoy MP3 music) , Lightweight Sport Backpack; all other items using basic settings. Total weight: around 3kg, include 6-cell battery and AC adaptor; Total HK$7,285. Note: Don't upgrade hardware from DELL as it is much cheaper to buy the same components (e.g. CPU, RAM, etc.) from HK Golden Shopping Center. If you worry about the warranty, you can consider to upgrade it after 1 year.

I have compared the same config. with Samsung, Lenovo, HP, IBM, Toshiba notebooks, the selling prices are much higher than DELL with the same hardware configuration as of today. Remember the weight of notebook is inverse proportional to the cost. This is only my 2 penny.
