14 days annual leave do not count Sundays and public holidays. My maid had more than 3 weeks vacation. I deducted her extra holidays from her pay as no paid leave.
They go back every two years and it's quite reasonable that they asked for longer holidays. But other than the 14 days paid leave, the rest should be "no pay" and is subject to your approval.
