Before I could lie my baby down in the tub and wash her hair very easily, but now, she likes to sit up straight, so I just can't wash her hair properly. I tried let her wearing the little 'hat' for hair washing, but she didn't like it and would take that off. So I have no choice but just to pour water on her head, but of course water comes onto her face, eyes,... but fortunately, she didn't complain (but she would rub her eyes due to the discomfort from the water).
I also find difficulty in washing her hair. Now I still lie her down on my knee but she always rub her eyes after I pour the shampoo on her hair. Besides washing hair, it's also hard to wash her body. She likes to stand up straight or turn her whole body down to get the shampoo and bathing liquid bottle. I can't wash her belly, hands, etc.
I am just thinking of using shower to wash her body later.
Do you have somebody to help you washing the baby? My baby is kind of 'spoiled' in a sense that, since birth, she's having two persons taking bath for her each time, (myself and a maid), cos' when she was small, I worry that the maid will 'slide' her down, and now, since she moves too much, we need two people to 'control' her as well, so we are ok washing her body, it's the hair that we are having the trouble. I want to wash her w/ shower too, but unfortunately at our home, we don't have have the 'hand shower', we only have the wall mounted ones, so it may be hard for her now.
Now I only wash my BB by myself . Since birth from 6 mths my previous maid & I washed together but later I found that I want more time to take care of my BB alone that's why I didn't need her help, only asked her to prepare the bathing things.
Don't you think when we watch my BB bathing, they really grow up. Before they only controlled by us as they can't move a lot. When times goes on, they don't want to be controlled by us. They are not BB anymore la.
washing hair is a big challenge to me. once water goes into her eyes, my girl will stand and hug me. you can imagine how wet i get every time i give her a bath.
she wouldn't let me carry her in my arms to wash her hair since she could turn around 3 months. and she wouldn't let me lay her in the tub since she could sit around 6 months. now all she wants to do is stand! stand! stand! it would be ok if she can stand by herself but she needs me to support her - so one hand holding her and another washing her...
So, seems like there is not much solution, but just the water goes into their eyes, right?!
Yes, we can see how much they grow when bathing the baby, before, the tub was so big to my bb, and now, it's getting small and she doesn't have much space in the tub anymore!
I still don't have the courage to bath her myself, cos' I worry that if she moves to much, I need one more person to help. Maybe I should try later... maybe I should ask my maid to stand behind, just to stand by... and try for a week first. I agree, we should have some private time w/ our bb, that's why I settle her to sleep every nite, and I find it so enjoyable to do so... so sweet!!
funny enuf. after seeing your comments, I thought to myself that maybe I should try washing my bb alone in the future, and have some 'private time' w/ her. Then tonite, my maid (btw, I live in Shanghai, so my maid is actually a lady from szechuan) suddenly offers me to wash bb by herself, which of course I said no, as I have always been the 'major' one to bath my bb and she's always just been the assistant. Since my bb moves so much when bathing, I myself would need a good practice first, and for my maid, she hasn't even changed diaper for my bb, so how could I trust her bathing my bb alone!!! ?-(
