I live in Australia and people here do the same! I guess it's universal because the miscarriage risk during the first 3 months of pregnancy is much higher (1 in 3). And being asked about the pregnancy after a miscarriage is just devastating. So, most people will only tell after 12 weeks, when the baby is more stable
Of course you may wanna tell your immediate family and good friends about the pregnancy so that you'd get advise and help because you are going to need these!
