Baby Signing Time針對嬰兒手語學習的 (是正規標準手語)。 很多家長對小朋友錯過了在一歲內接觸BabySigns感到後悔，其實，使用Signing Time(手語時間)來學習手語，這其中擁有更多的單詞辭彙與更複雜一些的歌曲,不僅能學會手語溝通，而且能加速語言能力的發展，同時也學會不少的單詞。
Signing Time手語時間是美國著名嬰幼兒手語教學系列之一。 手語時間至始至終貫穿著歌曲，邊唱歌邊學手語。

調查研究表明，教小朋友手語對孩子有很多益處：
(一) 加強小朋友的記憶能力手語時間的碟片有四大特色來刺激和加強小朋友的記憶－聽覺，視覺，肢體語言和空間感覺, 使得小朋友更方便來學習。
(二) 減少幼兒的困惑 幼兒能從手語時間的碟片和書中很快的學會基礎的手語和單詞。 “可怕的兩歲”對你來說並不可怕，因為你的小朋友能通過手語來和你溝通並讓你明白他所要表達的。 增進家人和小朋友的感情 在小朋友能說話前通過手語來相互溝通，這是相當不平凡的體驗，小腦袋就有一個和父母加強聯繫的視窗，增進感情。
(三) 對特殊需求的兒童有益 有些特殊的兒童可能在說話方面有困難，手語時間已成為許多兒童掌握兩種溝通方式成為可能，特別是對那些有特殊需求的兒童來說，能增加自信，自我表達和被接受能力。
(四) 提高小朋友的IQ 美國的國家健康調查機構調查表明，在IQ測試中，在說話前學過手語的小朋友的智商比沒有學過的要高。亦比沒用過此教材的小朋友, 較早學懂更多英文詞彙。

問: DVD 內容是全英文的，家長不擅英語能教小朋友嗎？ 答: 內容雖然是全英文的，但是堶悼X現的整句英文語句是很少，也很簡單，家長只要能看懂畫面，就能明白意思，片中出現最多的是讓小小朋友感興趣的卡通，玩偶還有一些可愛的現實生活中的小朋友，片中對一個手語動作的發音和動作意思的示範有重複性來加深小小朋友的印象。

US Parents
What Baby Signing Time offers is an easy way for baby and parents to learn together. The lessons are all song-based, and each centers around a different theme. For example, one song covers food and drink, and includes the signs “eat,” “drink,” “banana,” “cracker,” “cereal,” “water,” “milk,” “juice,” and “finished.” After a few viewing sessions, Pooky has actually learned each of these and uses them regularly. Other songs cover family members, animals, transportation, clothes, owies, please-thank you-sorry, and bed time.
The songs are so catchy, and so effective, that as soon as baby hears the opening bars she gets excited and starts signing. When we play the accompanying CDs in the car, she’ll sign along as well. Even if she’s in a particularly cranky mood, she’ll calm right down and focus on the songs. She has even started trying to sing along, which she hasn’t done with any other music. It’s amazing to see her open up to new ideas.
The result of all this has been a deeper, more rewarding level of communication with Pooky. To see beyond her immediate needs and into her idle thoughts (she’ll even sign absent-mindedly as she daydreams) is pretty awesome. Communication between us now flows much more easily in both directions, and we love it.
