You may wish to know that kids born after August 06 are not entitled to apply the N1 in HKPS (both kln tong and shatin) in 2008. Thus, I am afraid that 0612 mums won't bother to download the form last Sat morning.

I just called the school that they accept children
born in Sep to Dec 2006. However, the child has to be 2 yrs old when he starts to study,i.e. the kid that was born
in Dec 2006 will start to go to school in Jan 2009.

sorry, i only got the form for the one in kln tong and has already sent to a fd whose kids was born in 05.

i called the school and she told me that as the form is unique for each application, i can't use that form too.

but i think u don't need to be too sad about not having the form as it's v. v. likely that the school will be full before your kid can enter N1. becoz as far as i know, they won't leave the seat blank (and also not receiving school fee for 4 months) to wait for the kid.

I understand that the school may not consider my son since he was born in Dec and the school will earn 4 months less tuition fee if it admits my son. However, the school is too $$$ minded if this is the factor that it takes into consideration. If it is true, I won't even apply this school because I think it is one kind of discrimination.

In other words, do you think that children who were born in Sep to Dec should give up their opportunities to apply for popular school? Or only HK Preschool (Royal Ascot)?

my personal comment only:

i ve called quite a no. of kinders before the summer holiday and learnt that even some previously claimed that they will also consider small boy/girl, turns out they changed their policy in recent yrs becoz of the increasing birth rate in the last few yrs (i.e. more supply). thus, chances of enrolling in N1 is actually rather minimal. Yet, I also knew some cases, e.g. born in Nov 04 being accepted by so-called "famous" kinder for N1 last yr.

It's under the Law that they can't accept kids until the kids r 24 months old. n honestly, they r running business, need the school fee to support the running of the school.

I don't feel disappointed about the case of HKPS as I m not v. keen to apply. Just my fd whose kid needed to go for interview last sat, and she asked me to download the form for her. but i did reflect to the school that the information disseminated in the website is misleading. of course, they won't take this seriously. they ve many many supply of kids. won't bother.

every school has different policy. it's much better to know the policy of your target school before the admission date/period.
