Are you going in Christmas?
If you planned to do shopping it is not a good idea, as
some shops would be closed.
Anyway, if for sight seeing, personally I would say it is
worth to go as so many things to see in Europe! Even day time is short, still lots of things to see! Must go to
mountain side in Swiss, so romantic in winter!

Shops are closed on 25-26 inclusive and partly operating on 24 (ie. normally operatiion time till 4pm or even
earlier). If your travel period falls on Sundays, most of the shops are closed as well!
But as you are going one week before, all in good service!
