Run EO Video, Click "Help" on the task bar, then click "About EO Video", tell me the version number and check whether "Read Media" is installed or not ?
Seem that EO Video should work, and you have even tried TmpGenc, both are powerful converter. I have tried both to convert RMVB to MPEG, and they worked fine for me.
It happened to all RMVB or only just a few of those RMVB files ?
Maybe you need to download and install the full set of codec K-Lite Codec 2.25 Full, I am not sure whether it will work or not.

1. Run EO Video
2. Select the menu "File -> Extension Manager..."

5. Click on its extension, then type ",rmvb" (remember to add a comma before it)

6. Click close
Now EO Video should be able to open RMVB files. Yeah! :-P
Also, all kinds of video format conversion using software will take a L-O-N-G time especially if your CPU is slow. The reason is because conversion required CPU to do a lot of rendering (calculation), so the time taken depends on CPU speed.
