Yes ! When my happler came the first mth, one time we got the water delivery but haven't left good enougth money (about $2) she call me said the delivery man still waiting outsaid, what can she do? end up I find out she go none. But she been HK before!!
Clause 5(b) of I.D.407(i.e. Employment Contract)states that "The Employer shall provide the Helper with suitable and furnished accommodation as per attached Schedule of Accommodation and Domestic Duties and food free of charge. If no food is provided, a food allowance of HK$300 a month shall be paid to the Helper."
There are no clause stating that you need to supply them such personal articles. Of course, you can provide such personal articles for them if you like.
As for me, I will buy a pair of slippers for them to wear in the house so that they will not make the floor dirty. I also let them have my old winter clothes only when they first come here (as they are coming from tropical countries.)
Don't treat them too good at first as they treat your kindness as granted. Even, they will ask more later.
