Have your baby try fruit say banana & apple, usually, baby will like it, just let the baby try this first, let them used to solid food, and change to some other kind like cereal & congee gradually. Also, have your baby try egg yolk or sweet potato, if your baby like this, you may mix the egg yolk with congee, just try any kind of match, you will eventually find some kind of food your baby like, keep up.
Have you ever try pumpkin? Many babies like pumpkin. Pumpkin + fish/chicken/beef/pork.
Any other babies favourite is sweet corn.
I use Heinz sweet corn sauce (half jar) + fish. You can also add in cheese.
Kiri cheese is very good for baby. It's not salty. 1 box has 6 pieces. I use half piece to mix with steamed and mashed new potato. One "New potato" (just about the size of one egg) is not too big for baby so that they can finish in one meal. You can also add some fish congee with this.
If your baby is not allergy to egg. You can try putting egg yolk to the congee and add some minced vegetables.
Some babies don't like meat too much because they're rough. They may prefer fish and chicken which is more smooth.
Banana is very good too.
Fish soup with noodles is another very good choice.
Actually the taste of carrot is little bit strange to some babies.
Just try with more varieties.
All the above suggestions are using the natural taste of the food to attract my 18th month baby. I still have not add any salt or sugar to her cognee.
