Unfortunately, although you have all the right to chase the damage( in your case it is just 1 month of rent) If but often it is not worth to do so cause it might cost you more to sue your tenant.
If you tenant leave your flat in satisfactory condition. Sorry to say is that all you can do is to "swallow" it.
This is very true too. The process could last for a long time and you might ended up nothing but another (legal) bill. It really depends on how much is the damage.
