What kinds of books you have purchased for your kids?
I have bought some from GC e.g. Phonics Kingkom, GC Reading (Level 1 - 3), First Step to Reading, Big Picture Book, Little Scientients........

Zachary don't like the Little Scientients.

Somehow I have borrowed few books from Step Into Reading Level 1 and he likes it very much.

Search via web and found that lots of parents recommend :

Oxford Reading Tree
Oxford Story Tree
Magic Box

Did you have the above book set? Are they good? Any recommendation?

實際上Adrian reads d書都幾集ga. Adrian喜歡ge書有DWE, Oxford reading trees, Scholastic出ge書e.g Clifford (The big red dog), Ladybird出ge書, Disney stories eg. Winnie the Pooh, Toy Story, Nemo...), of course仲有Thomas la. Chinese books有青田出ge"我自己會讀叢書". Adrian lee排又對d關於動物ge書有興趣. But except DWE and 少少其他書系買or friend送之外, 大多數都系library借ga.

我每星期都會帶Adrian去library借書, 一次借12本. 所以Adrian每星期都read 12本以上ge書.

Zach喜ng喜歡去library? 你不如帶Zach去library自己pick la.

May其實你系ng系想find d書等Zach自己read呀?
我會recommend Oxford Reading Tree level 1 因為比較容易, 得3/4個字, d sentences 又系same pattern.

But library要find d較淺ge書又d困難. 你可以book fair時look look.我last year系book fair都買左ORT.

或者上網bid都得, 外國買其實係平些, 可以去海外的ebay, 全新都係大約香港價的6-7折, 仲包運費!

Yes, I found that Zachary always rely on me to read the book to him. I want to train him self-reading.....

Will you go to book fair next week?

I only brought him to library few times, I think I have to resume this habit..........

How can the kid - 4 years old submit the 400 words summary? Does it mean that the parent can help?

may,

選family group就ok啦! 只記錄 date &書名&sign就ok.每年1/7 至下一年30/6. 得閒攞本書仔比圖書館人員or學校(如果是學校圖書)印印仔就得. 好simple.

I went to Central library (Causeway Bay) last week, not much choice for Zachary as the books usally are for bigger kids. Somehow I locate a set of books : Magic Box which is quite good. It repeats the words in a different way so that the kid can learn, e.g. :

Do you want some bread? No.
Do you want some cake? No.
Do you want some noodles? No.......

For me, it is better than Oxford Reading Tree.

GO to JJ corner which next to the Toy Lib. The book coding of JJ is suitable for our kids. I hope it can help you.
