most of the house got the central heat, depends what temp you want to set for the house.
for us, we (lived in Toronto) did not have the 羽絨被, and used only the 100% cotton 被. We usually set the room temp to 22C for the summer, and 17C for the winter.
I would say YES as I am still having my 羽絨被 this time. Vancouver is different from Toronto as we dont really have hot summer. It is not common to have central heating here and most of the houses just have fire place. Even for a hot day, we dont need to turn on a fan and at night, especially just before sunrise, the weather can be icy, like 10C+/- and I always have my 羽絨被 around. Even my daughter has it and she still using it right now.
Another example, when we went to the beach last weekend, it is very hot but when we stay under a tree with shade, my daughter ask to have her jacket. It can be cool without a sun!
But if you are the one who rarely cover by 羽絨被 in HK, just ignore my comment.
