It is illegal to hold another person's ID or passport. Can this be a trap?

如果工人真係叫我keep佢本passport, 我會叫佢自己寫封信話係佢想我幫佢keep的.

應該無問題, 我之前個印印我都有幫佢keep住, 不過係我要求佢比我keep, 因為人地教我keep住佢本passport, 佢唔會突然間走佬, 因為佢間agent原來教左佢地一返工就比本passport我地

My ex-indonesian maid is very "smart". Her passport has been kept by the Agency during her loan-repayment period. After she paid off all the loan, the Agency still kept her passport until the end of the contract. In this way, the maid need could not switch to another Agency if she wanted to renew the contract.

So my maid asked me to get back her passport from the Agency and she rather had me to keep it for her. But my Agency told me it is in fact illegal to keep her passport. So I decided not to deal with this.

Better don't get yourself involved. Usually the maids want to keep the passport themselves. Your maid is doing something very strange so be careful!!!!

絕對同意,black and white 好d, 最好有第三者在場添,話佢自己要求暫時委託你代為保管,一陣返轉豬肚.......屎....

Agree. It's illegal. Don't keep her passport.
