I used to go there quite often when I was a student but not going there anymore lor...now prefer Birmingham if I fancy a day out.

Yes, lots of students in UK, eg. from HK, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand,...........lots and lots.....If people asked me, why I came to UK, I said, cos I married to a man, who lives and work in UK

If they said, HK is good.....I will said, HK is not so good as they think, but HK was very good about 10 yrs ago..........lol

Have you been to Chinese restaurants/Chinese supermarkets yet? Better chance to see HKc9s there but of course, there are always lots of students everywhere...
Also, if you are not working, try to join some adult learning courses to learn something then you can start enlarging your circle of life.
Life here is much quieter la...I don't have c9 friends to go to supermarket together. I do talk to colleagues at work but we don't go out on day-offs (or it's just me la...) Having a BB might be an advantage, especially when they get older and start going to playgroup or nurseries you will get more mummy friends - add oil la...

OIC, but all the HK mums in BK, only a few mums live close, the other mum live far away from each other......

I knew BK mums, who are live in London, Surrey, birmingham, Manchester.........etc. As almaly said, you can take a course, so you can meet lots of people. When you have kids, you ask the health Visitor, they knew some Mother and Baby groups in your area........

You are entitled to maternity benefits once you've worked for an employer for 6 months, so I would say it is not a bad idea to start work first
