This is what I do:

1. Slice the turnips and carrots in thin slices.
2. Add salt, leave it for one day
3. Squeeze the water out
4. Heat the vinegar, add sugar. Let it cool.
5. Add the sweeten vinegar into the turnips & carrots.

However, the pickles are not crispy at all?

Any advice?
