my son was 8 months old when he got the scans and MRI. the dr gives your bb some medincine for sleeping taken by mouth before the scans. When the bb sleeps, the scans can be taken.
My baby did brain MRI at around 4-5 months old. The nurse will give the baby some medicine to sedate him (put him to sleep), and then will take the baby to the MRI scan room. The whole procedure takes about 15 minutes. Baby woke up after about 10 minutes.
