Yes, very often we may find that those who are not that rich and old people are more generous. Generous in the sense is not the amount they donate and the % of what they have.
We may as well find our young kids are less willing to share their toys but in fact they have boxes & boxes of toys at home. While I could still remember when I was young, we like playing "group" type games with our little friends making up our own toys using papers or even leaves. I could still remember I made up my own kitchen/restaurant with my little cousins or neighbours.
In my younger days, my mother taught me to give some coins to the begger. But now the announcement at the KCRC or MTRC just ask us not to encourage begging by giving money. The moral standard has in fact distorted.
In the generation of my father & mother, they experienced wars and days of bad economies. We would often find that these elderly are very generous to donate and sympathic.
