If you breastfeed baby, I suggest you feed only when BB is hungry.
When my baby was first born, I faced the same problem as yours too. BB knows better when he/she is hungry ma. If you only feed when BB is hungry, BB will drink more each time and absorbs more. I breastfeed 100% and the jaundice 黃疸 disappeared after about 2 weeks.
Feeding every 2 hours is just a guideline. I think the nurse told you that to let you know that BB needs to drink quite frequently at the beginning.
Actually, BB get jaundice because they do not get enough milk at the beginning. When they do not absorb well, their liver cannot develop and cannot function well to decompose the bilirubin 膽紅素 which cause jaundice. If BB absords well from human milk, it'll help to reduce jaundice.

mori,
I know that it's very tiring to keep on breastfeeding. I remember that I fed my boy 10-12 times each day when during the first few months. He is now 5 months old. I enjoy very much feeding him directly.
The more you feed him directly , the more you get for the supply. Also, don't let yourself 'kuk' milk that often. Otherwise youy breast may get inflamed your
