> I have talked to the AC staff in the Hong Kong office and the nicelady told me those two seats are considered as prefered or premiumseats. According to the "new policy in effect late this year", I haveto either pay for those seats or be a super elite to have those seats.Could you find out how much more I have to pay for one of those seatsplease? I think this is the only way to get the bassinet and I wish Iknew this when I booked the tickets. I truely regret to fly with AC andI will make sure I share this experience with my friends and family. Thanks for your help.

> To whom it may concern:
> I had requested the bassinet for my son, and I understood it wouldbe assigned on a first come, first served basis subject toavailability. However, the ground crew in Toronto refused to provide methe bassinet, base on the fact that the bassinet can only be used atcertain seats and no one will switch seat with me at the gate. They didnot even bother to try asking! Does that mean I can only expect thebassinet on an almost empty flight? I cannot emphasize more how upset Iwas. But later on when I called the reservation offices in Canada andHong Kong, I got contradicting answers. The Canadian office told me theground crew should have gave me the bassinet, while the Hong Kongticket office told me the airline does not have to provide bassineteven if it is available. Could someone give
> me clarification on the policy and give me suggestion on how toobtain the bassinet? The only way I could think of at this moment is tofly with another airline which has better service and better-trainedstaffs.

that must be the worst flying experience you've ever had. sorry to hear that. i remember that i heard about this AC's new policy the other day on the radio. i think it's just taken into effect recently, they shouldn't have applied onto you since you booked your ticket in sept.
Just read the news, startng next month Cathy will charge their customers extra for those preferred/premium seats. Gee, airlines definitely know how to make money from customers!
Thanks for your sharing as I will be flying with AC in Dec from HK to TO. My travel agent told me that first row seats is only available to the youngest baby onboard. However, I didn't enquiry about the bassinnett issue. Guess I should be touching base with AC again soon just to make sure on these details....

第二, check in ...
Owen ma, I also have similar experience as Tabima while I travel with my son in June this year.
I think your travel agent need to be partly responsible for the issue too.
**The bassinet is not reserve for the youngest kid.
(I think your travel agent as given out untrue information.)
Usually the travel agent cannot reserve that for you. After you book the ticket from the travel agent, you need to can call AC directly to reserve the bassinet, it is first come first basis.
(If you surely want the bassinet, then you can call AC to check if it was reserved by others already, if so you can choose other flight. After you confirmed the bassinet is still available for a particular flight, you can either book directly from AC or you can call your travel agency to book it then call back AC again to reserve the seat.)
But I guess AC's service is really not that good.
Although I end up managed to get the bassinet on the flight and things went well, when I do the reservation they did told me that it is not totally guarantee cause the basket may not be in good condition.... I was shock to hear that. They are suppose to maintain their equipment well, isn't it???
Since other mom here suggest Cathy Pacific. Although i have not try it myself but it may be another option to avoid these hassel again....
Just returned from Toronto via AC early Jan and everything you said was TRUE. Our flight was packed with infants and toddlers. As my son is already 19 months he wasn't eligible for the bassinet anyway but we actually saw parents on the flight with an under 6 months old infant, unable to to book the first row and bassinet and complaint to the flight director. The flight director gave the same 'bs' about it's top priority for their 'priority' customers and not guarentee for travellers with infants.... bad service attitude.
