kbb,
for my understanding, everyone needs a visa to entry US, even new born if they are not resident or citizen. So, your child needs one.
you can logon to the website below:
Once you return, and stay in US with the appropiate time and you complete and pass your N400 exam , you can tell the immigration officer that you want your child to be citizen at the same time when you go for your naturalization.
travel with infant, you need to order the buckhead seats which allows you to move easier than other seats. Order a bassenet for your infant, so you do not need to hand hold your infant for the whole period of time. They have the weight limit, so check with the airline you purchased your ticket.
You can breast feed with no problem, I did breastfeeding in flight with my children. no one will care about it. I fed my children on my seat. if you do not feel comfortable, you can wear the breastfeeding clothes, and bring the sling, or a breastfeeding cloth to cover yourself. It should be fine.
Remember to bring hand sanitiser, so you do not need to go to the bathroom to wash your hand, I have my backpack with me everytime I travelled on air, with extra clothes, diapers, burp cloth, I also brought a spare nursing bar with extra pads, my pump and supplies, a lot of zip lock bags (sandwiches and 1 gallon size) to clean up the mess, my children's special treat (music box) to smooth them(when they were little).
If you come back alone, remember to have your infant carrier, to keep your hands free.
It will be cold when you return. so stay warm.
** also, the immunization card of your infant, any medical related information, you need to keep them with you. As you don't want your infant to re-do all the immunization here again after he arrived. In order for your infant to attend any kind of daycare/school, he needs to provide the proof of his "up to date" immunization status.** If s/he is on any kind of medication, you need to have your child's peds to converse the medication into American format, as the formula of the medication in US is different to the British system.
Friendly reminder, Greencard holder has the right to leave and travel but they need to return within 1 year of time from travel. That's mean, you need to return to US before you hit that "365days" period.

I'm a green card holder. I was back to HK 11 months ago and found myself pregnant during my stay. Since I had threatened abortion, I couldn't take the plane back to US during my pregnancy and so I had ...
Hi Kbb127,
After I read the whole message, it did not state anything that your infant does not a visa.
You may misunderstand it some way.
The message is pretty clear. You need to apply the i-130 to give your infant a status.
I did give you the contact for the Hong Kong, US consultation office info. You can give them a call and find it out.
They are very nice person (customer service). And you need to state that you are a green card holder.
Again, every person wants to enter US needs a visa.
You can go to the Government website to search for information you need, they write in chinese.
Also, where do you obtain the information below?
Information I gave up, usually from the social worker from immigration service in community center, or from government website.
those are reliable.
Check with the website I gave you.. you should get more idea what you have to do .
And, do not let your status expire.. otherwise, you can't help your child and not even yourself.
About finding the lawyer in hk? I am not so sure about it.. or you can listen to the radio here in NYC online.. Ms. Wang, she is the immigration lawyer, very nice and answer question every week on the air.. you may send her letter by fax or letter..
WZRC is AM 1480, the radio on air.. you can listen it via internet.
the program on Tuesday Eastern time 4-5pm.. (if my memory serve me right).
Hope that help.
Good luck..
