Sickness of BF BBs

Dear BF mothers,

My son is about 4 months old and he fell sick with fever and cough last Sat. I felt very upset as I supposed BF BBs have better immune system. He is so little and everytime when he cough, my heart ached. People said BBs was immunsed in the first 6 months and should be healthier...

Could you share with me your experience of BF BB's sickness in early months?

Really need your support! Keeping on Breast Feeding is not easy, especially with such failure...

我阿女依家7個月,係5個月時佢傷風&咳咳,一星期睇咗3次醫生,之後好咗7788,我就無再帶佢睇醫生,我唔想佢食咁多藥&餵佢食藥我同佢都好辛苦,之後有幾聲咳咗一排,完全無咳要2星期
我地做阿媽見到仔女病真係好辛苦,我個時都好唔開心,問自己點解食人奶都病,我老公安慰我係人都會病架啦,有bk mama 安慰我唔餵人奶可能病得仲快!!
加油呀!!唔好放棄!!唔係得你一個遇到呢d問題!!

其實你唔駛唔開心, 我bb都係食人奶, 但係佢都係病! 新年果時仲住左差唔多一星期醫院添! 而家佢差唔多一個都要睇一次醫生! 我開頭都有好似你咁...覺得好唔開心ga! 但係, 亞仔就算病...都算係精伶, 我都覺得好安慰! 無人知道bb如果唔食人奶會點..係唔係? 所以唔好諗埋一邊, 大家一齊努力啦!

對呀！從另一角度諗，若ｂｂ唔食母乳，病起上來可能會嚴重ｄ呢！
而家ｄ菌咁犀利，真係防不勝防的。我阿囡都病了好多次了，不過通常好快好番的。唔好咁擔心！

人奶的好處是bb可以從媽媽奶中吸取抗體！

而家的病菌咁多，5花8門，有d 可能連媽媽本身都無呢種抗體....又如果bb 多接觸外面環境，受到外面的病菌感染的機會都會大d.......所以就算食開人奶的bb 都一樣會病！

我兩個孩子都是母乳寶寶，大女返學前都好少病，但自從返學之後就差唔多一個月病一次，細佬便給她傳染一起病！但細佬病得來會好得快d；如果我又病埋，我繼續餵奶比細佬，佢又會好得仲快，因為從我的奶中得到抗體，真係唔到你唔信！

don't worry. breastfed bb is not equal to super baby.. all of us are human.
Moses saw doctor twice due to sickness since his born, like last week, he got high fever so i took him to doctor, but he was still very active and can play , can smile, only unwilling to drink water and eat, but he only needs nine nine, i tell myself, if he is not a breastfed bb, he will get thinner quickly because he did not want to eat and drink , however, he can still enough nutriation, be full from my breastmilk.

also, everytime he recovered very fast,..
sometimes he has sick, like running nose, flu, but i didn't take him to see doctor, just let him fight with his anti-body, and then he really can recover by himself. because if bb takes too much medicine, he will be weak and cannot fight with the bacteria later;
even for coughing, if he can still sleep, do not give him medicine, because the doctor told me the medicine curing cough is not good for bb, just let bb cough to take away the dirty from the lung..

my son also got sick twice already but the first time was not really that sick, maybe my mom and I were too worried and we took him to the doctor. the 2nd time he was really coughing and running nose.

I was also like you thinking why breastfeeding baby also get sick so much. But as my honey said every one around my son were sick at the time and he has survived so many before he get sick already very good, if he was not breastfeed, he would have been sick even earlier law.

Add oil, keep it up lah.

thanks so much for your valuable experience. Yes, even my BB got fever, he still could play and smile. I really hope that he can recover from the illness as quickly as your son.

about cough, my BB cough a lot and especially during night time. Last night he cough too much than he vomited all the mama milk that he drank twice. How poor the little baby is.

about medicine for cough, if it is not antibiotices, would it be better for the BB? My doctor said the cough medicine can relieve the cough symptoms.
