CPU Safety Shutdown Temp

My computer was currently set at 60 deg but shutdown automatically and repeatedly for short running time. Is it a hardware problem or it should be set at higher temperature, say 70 deg?

I would suggest you to use the default setting of bios, because it is more accurate. and the next suggestion is how to improve the ventilation.

You should also check the reason why the Temperature is so high.

Re: CPU Safety Shutdown Temp

Ericmoy,

The default setting is 60 deg which should be too low. I am using Atholon CPU which dissipate more heat than Pentimum processor. In addition, my "Golden Shopping Centre" casing is quite small. Is it safe to operate at 6X deg which is below 70 deg.

Re: CPU Safety Shutdown Temp

It is so hard to determine, You can try to set the temperature allowance to 70 deg and then investigate for 1 week, if your computer always hang up or instable, that means it is overheaded and you should decrease the allowance.
