My due date is end of Nov. I want to fly back to vancouver to give birth. Since I have a job in hk, I can only fly back when I am 8 months pregnant (early oct). Can anyone share your experiences if you had flew back to canada while 8 months pregnant? I called the airline already and they said I only need to present a medical certificate and then I am allowed to fly before week 36.
Also, I need to do C section because my first two children were C-section. Will it be too late to find a C-section doctor if I fly back in the 8th month?
I am really stressed out. Can anyone please kindly share their experiences with me?
I need to fly back to Vancouver to give birth just because I need to get the citizenship. I can't pass on my citizenship to my 3rd baby anymore because i am the 2nd generation. So frustrated. If I have a choice, I won't go back to give birth......
Well, I flew back to home country to give birth too. The first one was before 36 weeks cos 1st BB kinda nervous and worried about the trip etc ..
Took the gynae letter but didn't use it at all cos no one including those who went swimming with me after I returned home could even tell that I was pregnant!
Anyway, back to the question, it really depends on how big is yr tummy, I guess by the third baby, it should be quite big. Hence, you might want to leave according to airline rules as they have the right to refuse you for boarding.
My 3rd one was bigger by then. Thou I still didnt take any more letters from gynae for the subsequent babies before taking off.
For my youngest baby, I went back on week 38 cos kinda more experience by then and wanna stretch my work time more. Plus, it was winter time for most of them, hence my coat really did some hiding too.
Thanks for your reply. According to the airline website, I am allowed to fly before 36 weeks. Do you feel any uncomfort while you were on the plane? I am afraid that if anything happens on the plane, then nobody can help me. That's why I want to make sure it's safe to fly at 32 week.
Unfortunately, my tummy is quite big. I am 4 months now but it looks like I am already 6 months.
I am so frustrated coz I don't know whether I should fly back to Vancouver or stay in HK to give birth.
Anyone....can you give me some advices?
Any mummy just to fly back to Canada to get a birth certificate?
Thanks for all of your reply. Yes, I am 100% sure I am the second generation because I never granted my citizenship by immigration nor taking test in order to become Canadian.
That's why I am so frustrated....When I was born, my mother passed on her citizenship directly to me and I got citizenship since birth. When I was 12, I just moved back to Canada. I did not go through any process of applying for citizenship because I was a Canadian already.
I called the consulate of canada and they said, yes I am a 2nd generation. My 1st and 2nd children who were born in HK before 2009 are citizens (in fact, they got their certificate already) because the law hasn't changed. However, my 3rd child who will be born this November is no longer a Canadian citizenship at birth. If I want my baby to be Canadian, I need to give birth in Canada.
My case is - I have a job here so I can't quit before 34 weeks. So the only way I can bring myself back to give birth is to fly back to Canada at 34 weeks. My concerns are, 1. I am not sure if I can find a doctor. Both my children are C-section because they did not turn their heads around. They were born upside down. For my 3rd baby, if I can't choose C-section in Canada, I would rather stay in HK to give birth....
Also, I am not really sure of sponsorship coz the consulate staff said i can sponsor my child when I decided to move back to Canada. Some friends told me that the process takes forever.
