Read from other BK topic, most negative reports for Sands issued. Stayed here a day before, it's better than my expectation. We were late check in, and we thought all better view were gone. Really, the receptionist said my booked one were full. Horizon Grand at higher floor w/ city view was offered...
Tower 2 is more quieter than others. Tower 1 is so crowded with some non hotel guests.
I also think the negative cases are individual cases. For me, it's over my expectation. Just returned from there few days ago, share my experience to you.
- Late check in and no queue. Hotel could not provide the room that I booked, but they offered us upgraded to higher floor’s Horizon Grand at Tower 2 w/ city view.
- Just a short queue (within 2 minutes) for breakfast buffet at Rise.
- Swimming pool was clear, not so crowded in the morning (I left at 11:30am).
- Requested and accepted 2 hours late check out.
Actually, I am not sure if they provide 2 kinds of room service at the cutting floor on 22 /F. Below 22/F are Atrium levels, and above 23/F are Horizon levels.
A poor comment about free shuttle to airport: The bus ran around T1, T2, Budget and T3 terminals. Waste time for SQ passengers!
I have also stayed at Horizon levels (34/F) but there was no bathrobe inside the room. My kid found a drop of blood (dried) on the bedsheet. Due to the delay in delivering the bathrobe to my room, we went to the swimming pool only at 4:45 pm, maybe that's the reason why the pool was so crowded and dirty.
However, we found the shuttle bus service very good. The bus was big and comfortable. The driver told us it would take around 40 mins. We arrive T3 within 30 mins, despite it had to ran around T1 and T2. We were also taking SQ.
Not sure if the driver made wrong route. As the sign showed. From Sands to Changi Airport, the route should be Hotel>T3>T2>T1>Budget, but actually was Hotel>T1>T2>Budget>T3. Hopefully, we did online check in and did fast bag drop, and still had time to play the slideT3 and visit Butterfly Garden.
Strongly recommend to all pre SIN visitors. Butterfly Garden in T3 is an attractive place in airport. Though the garden is so small, but you can see over a hundred of butterflies. Most of them are not afraid of human. They would stop on your shoulder as well as your hand and camera...Why don’t Hong Kong Airport build the same?
