8 months old baby refuse to sleep infront of helpless dad
When she is younger, I manage to put her in baby bed by herself to sleep, but as she is older she refuse to be left alone in baby bed. Leaving us no choice but to put her by ourside to sleep. once she is as sleep, we will put her back into her own baby bed.
But recently, baby is refusing to sleep, she will explore the mommy's bed like an astronaut on the moon and holding on the bed board and stand for long time, mom and dad already slept but baby is still sitting in the middle of the bed playing by herself for hours.
So yesterday, I decide to put her in baby bed while she is awake and she cry like mad. Standing up holding to the rail of the bed for 15 min, I took her back to my bed and she start her exploration again. I try to hold her down to make her sleep, and she got angry. I am left with no choice and resend her in her back to baby bed again as a punishment.
This time, she cry for 15 min while standing and finaly got tried and sit down while remain crying. So I go pick her up and she continue to cry and refuse to let me hold on to her, baby is now officaly mad at me. :-(
She will only stop crying when momy hold her, and it seem like the only way to make her sleep is, 1) make her tire, 2)mom hold her to sleep.
My boy used to sleep by himself when he was younger too
He refused to sleep since he started standing and only sleep if we paddle him or I hold him
We struggled for few weeks and now he sleeps by himself again.
Sometimes you have to be crucial and let her cry, mine cried for almost 2 hours for the first days we decided to let him sleep by himself again!!
He stood up and screamed but sleep himself when tired
