my friend also has this operation in kwong wah hospital....don't worry....she said that all doctors are very nice

by the way....can you tell you what kind of abnormal you have?....hpv or cin?

我係 CIN I, 政府要排期到"10月"...好似好遲, 所以諗過去"私家", 不過其實由CIN I 至到 CANCER (就仲有一段時間, 起碼係5-10 年)

請問有冇人在私家做過陰道鏡呢？大約幾錢呢？

如果係政府做，咁由pap smear 化驗結果出來，到安排做陰道鏡，大約需幾耐時間呢？

As I know, the general practice of Kwong Wah Hospita is like that, when you first get in, they will study your case and decide your date for first appointment. If they take pap smear for you, they will call you if it's abnormal within 2 weeks. If the status is not serious or urgent, they will arrange your next appointment 6 months later.

And this second appointment maybe just take another pap smear if your last result is not serious. But if they suspect your condition, they will use the colposcopy to check. As I know, the colposcopy in private doctor costs around $4000-$5000 in hospital. If you didn't have any insurance, you may just do it in clinic instead of hospital to save the costs.

Thank you very much for your detailed information. I think I'll wait for Gov't rather than do it in private clinic. Coz the colposcopy cost is too expensive for me.

I faxed the referral letter to Eastern hospital to make the appointment this Monday and they give me the first appointment date is in the beginning of August. The waiting period sounds reasonable. Just wonder if I need to do another papsmear test in private clinic before I go to see the gov't doctor to save the time.

Yes, i agreed with you that better have a pap smear test from private clinic before seeing the gov't doctor. In case the report is not good, you may fax to the eastern hospital for earlier appointment.

It's also useful that if the report is not serious, then when you go to eastern hopital in Aug, it will speed up the procedure as they can define whether to use colposcopy or not. Don't worry, there's no pain during the checking by colposcopy.

As I know, it should wait at least 4 months for another pap smear test as it hurts the cervic. You better ask the doctor before you go for another pap smear test.

Hello Goodhealth,

I went to 家計會 to do Papsmear last night. But the nurse said even I do it before seeing the Gov't Doctor, the gov't doctor may still need me to do the papsmear again in the hospital, because some doctors only trust the test result from their own hospital, therefore, it will be "waste gas" to do it before.

As you mentioned, it takes at least 4 to 6 months to have another papsmear, after hearing the advice from the nurse, I did not do the papsmear finally last night. coz I'm afraid if by the time I see gov't doctor, they will ask me to do papsmear again, and if I do it now, they may ask me to do again after 6 months later, that will definitely delay the time for me to do the colposcopy.

Sigh, so frustrated, I don't know what to do now. Coz I really cannot predict if the gov't doctor will trust the papsmear report from outside organization or not.... :cry:

let me tell you my case......as my HPV problem lasts for over 10 years.....last nov....i took a pap smear test from private clinic....then went for kwong wah appointment in dec as usual....they study my private pap smear report and immediately check with the colposcopy at the same day.....as the colposcopy result is ok then they immediately arrange my next appointment in this june....

in april this year.....i went for another private pap smear again.....i'm going to take this report to kwong wah this month.....

i don't believe they don't trust the outside report....

我將會係荃灣港安醫院做, 約$12000, 醫生話一d都唔痛, 只須20分鐘左右, 因我要割子宮息肉同埋睇下子宮有冇異常.

Thanks for your reply. Emm, then do you suggest I should take the pap smear outside first? I really don't know.

BTW, you mentioned that you have HPV for more than a decade, how come after doing colposcopy, the result is okay? will them be cured by themselves? or in my case, I had abnormal cell, will it turn out that the abnormal cell turns to normal after two years?

I am not dare to tell whether you should take the pap smear test in advance or not as i'm not professional. I just can tell you my own choice only. I took the test in this April and will bring along it with me in the coming June appointment.

I have only HPV in these 12 years. Sometimes the kowng wah doctor only take pap smear for me and sometimes colposcopy. So lucky that I have no CIN. But too bad that the HPV never disappear. So I have to keep checking.

As I know, for those with CIN 1 or HPV people, some of them really can be recovered in 1-2 years. If you are strong, the abnormal cell will be away. But if you are weak, it will come back.

By the way, would you mind to tell your stage of CIN? and what the report tells last time?
