all mamas.我都有十日大假考假，其實我都幾唔開心。大仔返學都學唔到嘢咁！中、英、數、常都要我重教一次先收到。我同佢講：阿媽幫唔到你電腦、吹笛、普通話，你自己留心d ，點知佢真學唔到番嚟，普通話我己經另外比佢學。電腦肥咗，笛又吹唔掂。勞作又亂做。就嚟考試，佢話煩，死咗好過。成日發脾氣、懶。我已經又揾個小學老師幫佢補習。我真係比好多時間、金錢同心機落去，但係得個吉。越大越唔聽話。 :-(

Wow, 10 days off !! I admire you!! Don't get too fed up with your boy! Children nowadays need more encouragement than penalty.

I used to be the ugly witch at home....so my girl preferred her dad. Finally, I had to face reality......and tried to change my attitude. It really works like magic. Try....and you will see the differences.
My girl is getting repulsive at her age. The young generation is very different from ours, isn't it?

All mamas, let's keep it up!!

唔知係咪男仔畫畫都差d呢！？ ?-( 因為無女仔咁有耐性？！
我囡就好鍾意畫畫，3歲已經可以定定坐係度畫一、兩個鐘！

我囝同hhma個囝都係讀官立學校，hhma係荃灣，我係沙田，好彩學校唔係太深、太淺，中中等等，所以小朋友先有咁成績咋！

而且今年開始，學校出題目，係原全唔跟書o架，天馬行空，轉到九彩，中、英文都有兩篇閱讀理解，死讀、死背平時做d作業、工作纸係無用o架！
真係要d小朋友自己上堂留心先得！
所以中、英、常主要都係幫呀仔默生字！

我地小一時已經唔係甘跟書架啦. 係得英文跟小小. 常識就跟得最多. 所以讀返作業,學校比既exercise都係無用. 反而平時就要做多d"雞精", 等佢慣左做d未見過/無人教既exercise.
我覺得我仔中作唔係甘好呀. 次次都係我70幾80. 我估佢睇書都係小呀. 甘有得揀, 佢梗係玩, 唔睇書啦.

I logged off yesterday early and wow..........I didn't realize that I missed all the fun of chatting here until this morning :-( ..............

anitapooh, your son is studying in one of those traditional elite schools, that's why. The pressure is on you then, obviously. Kids don't care. One good thing good about it is that you don't have to worry about applying for secondary as the seats are guaranteed. Besides, your 2nd boy can also benefit and save you all the hassels of going through the stages of P1 application. The standards of traditional elite schools are high in general. Your son is very smart to be able to keep up in class. Those schools usually prefer mid range students because their overall development is all-rounded. Whereas, those in the top 10s are too competitive among themselves. All their parents care is academic results.

looby and hhma,
looks like i'm the worst among you 2 and anitapooh.....my girl's exam doesn't begin until July 4th. So, I still have 3 more weeks to go :-( :-( though the exam only lasts until July 5th. (2 days)
My girl's weakest subject is math while she is quite comfortable in the rest of the 4 core subjects: Chinese, English, Science and Social Science. She is in one of those DSS and it is a through-train to secondary. If she can keep up the way she is now, her homeroom teacher said she will be able to enter the elite class next year. Her school also plans to help those weak students at an early stage. So, as these children advance to upper primary/early secondary stage , the overall standard between the 2 groups is similar.

My girl likes drawing but she spends ALL her time wasting on the piece of drawing. At the end , she has no time to do the rest of her homework........and that makes me mad

Hi looby,
Yes. She will do several subjects a day. All kids in the school are like that. No problem! The school hours are the same. Kids don't go home early even on exam days.
Besides, the school has continuous assessments across all core subjects on a regular basis. Those assessments count too.
