Just to share my past experience with you all. I had my last pregency since Sep 2005 and when we do the first Down's test ultra sound scanning in late November, the doctor found that my bb got cleft lips. The reason why he can discover that so early because my bb was suffering that so badly. It can easily see from ultra sound even it is only 3 months. My doctor told me that this is quite unusual since it won't be able to discover until say 18 weeks to have the structural scanning. Well, my husband and i both thought this is not bad to let us know that early in order to think about the solution. We decided to abort the pregency. And now, I am pregnant for 10 weeks with another bb. My doctor told me that the percentage of having cleft lips is higher but she said I won't win lottery twice... Just so you know, each scanning costs around HKD1,800 but I think it worths cuz we can see the problem ahead of time. Public hospital doesn't provide this type of service.
