My son has that problem too when he is on that age...don't like to sit properly, just want to go around.
he can sit around 45mins now (飲茶) he is 2 1/2 years old
My method is try to tell your son, we have to sit and have to eat first.... don't say that we go out later! He doesn't understand "Later" really later.... he just know we go now! Try to bring something he loves to play with (toys, cars, books, some snack etc) Gradually, he can sit longer!
And on the other hand, one of you or your husband has to eat and one to take care your son!
So I have to wait until my baby is over 2 years old? OH NO!!!!
Your methods are useful. But as my baby is still too young to understand my advices, it is so difficult to control her. I have tried to bring with her some toys when going out, but then, she just threw it away and tried her best to touch something new around her.
Finally, going out with my baby become an experience.....
my son is 2.5yr now, 如果係酒樓比佢落地行慣左, how could I help him to improve his malpractice? we've tried your method eg 見到咩同佢講咩，比佢畫下畫，比ｄ書仔佢睇, but he always touch and throw the things (dishes & chopsticks etc etc) on the table, we are very embarassed of his behaviour every time we bring him to tea.
