好彩的話 … 兩個工人真係好好多!!
Still remember that I posted a topic asking whether I need to hire two maids for taking care of two young kids a few months ago? Eventually, I decided to hire two maids and the new one is the younger sister of my existing maid. The new maid came for one month already and so far I am pleased with my decision.
My elder son is 2 years and 9 months old and the younger daughter will be 4 months old very soon. Though my mother-in-law stays with us on an occasion basis, both my husband and I agreed that we need two maids in order to take good care of two kids.
Up to now, I found the following benefits of hiring two (sister) maids:
1. I don’t have to rush home right after work as there is always a maid taking care of the kids when the other one is cooking;
2. I have a maid helping me on all holidays;
3. The house is clearer than before;
4. The maids do the house work more efficiently and they could enjoy more rest time;
5. It is easy for the new maid to pick up works as her sister teaches her;
6. It is easy for the new maid to get used to the new environment by being accompanied by her elder sister;
7. Both maids work well and happily together as they don’t mind who doing more or less work
I am very lucky that both maids are some sort of kind and easy-going persons and are quite helpful. I am going to extend the contract with the old one in next January and she is pleased to work with us on a long-term basis. We may not need two maids on a long-term basis and in fact it is really costly to keep two maids …. we have to be very cautious on other expenses to ensure a balance. But we definitely need two maids for this couple of years in order to ensure that our kids are well taken care of and our quality of living does not deteriorate. All in all, we deem it worth to spend a bit more to ensure that our babies are well taken care of.
Lastly, I paid only about $1,600 for hiring the maid directly from the Philippines as she agreed to share half of the agent fee!!
