what a co-incident, I mean just gave salary and her hubby died.
Heard so many cases that the maid is telling lies and saying her family members are sick or died, and need to go back home asap, then, not returning.
Question:
- is your maid bun bun or yan yan?
- why she received this bad news via sms? is sms commonly used in her home country? (that's why I wonder whether the news is true or not)
mine is bunbun...i am still wondering the case...really what a conincident!!!...but at this moment, what can i do to protect myself..like she will escape for the one month notice for me...she mentioned to me that the salary has been remitted to her husband yesterday, i think she means no money to buy ticket...what can i do to reject her payment the ticket.....it seems i am mean to say no, seems unhelpful and really bad.....the agenct in charge is in Philippine, so he sent her the sms (my maid's family informed the agency to contact her), i also don't know why her family not call her directly......so many questions in my mind now...my bb is only 1.5 year....help ah....
I suggest you to talk to the agent directly. Ask your bun how to contact the agent, so that you can verify the case.
I suggest you to ask your maid to prepare a black-and-white, in which:
- she should say she need to take a urgent leave and how long it would be and the reason why
btw, have you kept any receipt of the salary payment to your maid? it just to avoid your maid play trick in the future.
actually, in your case, i think your agent should advice you what you need to do and what document can protect you loh.
I don't believe your bun's story is truth, it's just a excuse to go phil without paying any. If better, can earn your passion to pay her free air ticket. My bun bun has told me the bun bun always tells lie to their employer so as to leave before contract over. She also did it before, so if I were you, I will ask my agent to help me pushing her to pay what she should have to pay.

if u don't mind giving her a chance to go bk home then i'll suggest u not to pay her anything include ticket n money, she can borrow money from other party instead! prepare a letter that indicate if she does not rtn on the specified date u will consider she resign from her present post as domestic helper n u'll also file the claim on her for the one mth notice! good luck!
