I don't think your boss will grant you extra sick leave if it happens on Sun or Public holiday. So in my opinion, no need to 'compensate' the 'sick leave' to her.

Few years ago, I apply an annual leave in my company. End up, there was typoon no. 8. But annual leave still be deducted because I appy the leave prior. I remeber my personnel dept told me "you're bad luck". This is the labout law
