Day 1 – HK- Vienna (arrive morning)
Day 2 – Vienna
Day 3 – Vienna – Bad Gastein (hotspring)
Day 4 – Bad Gastein (snow mountain)
Day 5 - Bad Gastein – Salzburg
Day 6 – Salzburg
Day 7 - Salzburg – Cesky Krumlov
Day 8 – Cesky Krumlov
Day 9 - Cesky Krumlov – Prague
Day 10- Day 13 - Prague
Remarks – Bad Gastein 冇亞洲遊客,個snow mountain 如去過Switerland的可不去, 此地可在Salzburg day trip 去.
但Salzburg值得留多幾天,要買Salzburg card, 分24小時,48小時, 72小時,我是買48 hours的 (this is different from 1 day , 2 days.....因可用盡the no. of hours),持卡主要入場+ transport, cable car.........都包.Old town 的Mozart Birth place, Mozart residence, Residenz state rooms都非常值得去.
在Salzburg 有個side trip值得去,就係去Germany 的Berchtesgaden 玩salt mine和Eagle's Nest (Hilter's former residence and a Nazi party mountaintop conference centre) ,join tour 去方便好多.
另外,有人 去過 'ice cave' side trip 話好正,但冬天冇
.
Note:Salzburg Hellbrunn Palace and the trick fountains are closed in winter-time, will open again on April 1st, 2007.
hi KristyMum
I have stayed at the Ibis Karlin Hotel when visiting Prague two years ago. It is okay gar. Also, it is not far from the underground train, about 5mins walk; hence, quite convenient.
For Prague, I went to the major tourist spots in 3 days. Prague is a beautiful city with a lots of old buildings of great architecture. A lot of towers and castle for you to go up and view the city and scenery.
Try to go to Charles Bridge earlier as it is quite crowded in the afternoon which means it will be difficult to shoot good photos with people around you.
Quite a lot of shops near Charles Bridge and the Square. Some people set up small kiosks for selling small souvenirs or handcrafts items on the bridge as well. Quite nice gar.
Also, I like many colour glasswares products sold in shops. They are very beautiful and many of them handmade. Regret that we do not have large space at home to display them in HK. Otherwise, I will buy them.
In fact, I went to Budapest in the same trip to Prague. Budapest is also worth to go for a few days, eg. 3 days. May be, you can consider this.
For Vienna, there are also a lot of great old buildings around the "Ring". Vienna has started a restoration project about 3 years ago to clean up the old buildings. At that time, it was interested to see some old buildings half white, half dark grey when the cleaning is in progress. I think they should have finished the cleaning project now. The outer walls of the buildings should be all be cleaned and in more harmonious colour now.
Do go to the various palace and museums. They are great. Prepared for comfortable shoes. It is quite tired to walk around in the palaces and museums, some of them with big parks.
On the popular streets or tourist spots, you will easily see many people selling tickets for music performance / dance show in the evening. Some of them will dress in the old European costumes for easy recognition. I have purchased tix from these people to watch the performance - quite good wor. See if you are interested in their cultural activities lar.
I like the ice-cream (gelato) in Vienna very much, esp those with pistachio flavour.
In the next few days, I will try to dig out my files & check if I keep some of the restaurant info. If I can find them, I will send out the list to you.
Hope you enjoy the trip!!
