Phil Government new policy

For your information, Phil government would like to gain more money from their people who are working in HK. If the maid go back to Phil for holiday, the maid need to pay around $400.00 for training fees before they come back to work. Otherwise, Government will not let the maid to come to HK.

Really ? My maid will go to Philippines for her vacation from Feb. 13 till Mar. 03,2007. She just to pay for trainning fee or need to sit for the exam ? If she fail the exam, she cannot go back to HK ???

How should the emplyer do ?

Hong Kong Immigration suggests Hong Kong employers: Do not let yr Phil. maid return home recently. There might be a chance that she can not come back to HK if she fail to pay the training fee. Today is HKD$400. What about tomorrow? Will the gov't raise up? Phil. gov't is changing everyday. If your maid can not pay the fee, the gov't will not release her to HK.

小師妹,
Not only pay the HKD400, she really need to receive a 3 to 7 days training in Manila. The HKD400 and the 7 days annual leave is on the maid own account, not on HK employers. I just clarify from the HK Immigration.

I'm so worry about that but my maid must go to Philippines in this period. I'm afraid she will delay to come back to HK. :-( :-(

P.S. Does my maid need to sit for the exam ? Or only take the trainning course & pay HKD400 ?
