Where do your sister live?
Since you are a mother too, why dont you give her some hints as I think the basic stuff is neccessary for all new mother.
It is interesting to see someone post in such hurry. It takes 9months to have baby and why she has to wait for the last minutes to ask that type of questions?
wykjenny,
Yes, you dont find everything but all Canadians can adapt it, so just be it. What she actually looking for?
As you are the sister, you can ship it to her, right?
Where does your sister live? I can only tell you what we have in Toronto.
If she is in Toronto, she will need to bring newborn diapers, baby wipes, the outfit the baby wear, baby carseat when she and baby leave the hospital. Hospital will provide the some "monk robe", clothes to wash the baby, receiving blanket, while you are staying in the hospital. For the hospital I go, they sometimes have diapers. Also they will give you a basin and bottle to wash the wound. Also will give you the maternity pad while you are staying in the hospital.
The rest of the baby stuffs (shampoo, bathing basin, clothings, receiving blankets, crib, stroller, milk bottle), you can find them in Walmart, Zellers, Babies R Us, etc. If she wants to buy Pigeon milk bottle, she can find it in Market Village, Gal Tak store.
wykjenny,
still not sure what you are looking for? Walmart, Zellers, Superstore London Drugs should have everything you want.
Otherwise, mail to her since it only take less than a week to receive by air mail.
I don't understand what your sister wants to get for giving birth?
Actually giving birth in Calgary doesn't need bring much stuff to the hospital, very different from things that HK mom bring to the hospital.
As I only stay in the hospital for 24hrs after baby was born(even less than 24 hrs when my girl was born), only need to bring your own clothes, socks, baby's clothes, most important is the car-seat, no car-seat no release of baby. You don't even have to bring money.
All the baby diapers, feminine pads, wipes, receiving blankets, cleaning bottles all provided by hospital, even meals and snacks are included. In the room that you gave birth, you can even place international phone calls w/out extra money.
