Feb 17, 2007 Sat, the first day of the 4-day Chinese new year public holiday. Spent the morning in Victoria Park with Zita(媽咪), Karen(阿囡) and Muji. Stalls for selling stuff were over there, with the adjacent area selling all sorts of flowers, just as typical for celebrating each year of Chinese New Year Festival. Karen did not appear excited with the stalls and the flowers, though she did touch stuffs in the stalls and the flowers here and there, as they are just as all sorts of things new to her. Then we turned to the rest of the Park which remained as same as usual, having not been occupied for setting up the stalls. Karen seemed fond of walking, and she did walk on her own, and we took picture of her doing so. We let her touch the plants and the surrounding areas, as I don’t want to disturb her trying and feeling, believing that she should be let to do what she like and want to, though we should be careful watching her lest she should touch things dirty, and hurt herself. She played excitedly in the Park, sitting, walking, playing and watching. She was very happy, and laughed a lot. We took a lot of good pictures. We then took taxi back home. We have family dinner at Father’s home, and today I felt quite relaxed since Mother was surprisingly stable and did not complain of pain. Karen visited with us the following places in this New Year – Zita’s Family, Father’s family and [ ], during stay in the latest, Karen was quite clam enjoying playing on her own with some toys. The first word (other than daddy, mama etc) that she said in Cantonese was on Feb 19 Monday night, being that of “sock”. So impressive! So lovely she was!
