在大學做EO的媽媽入黎傾下啦

I am offered an opportunity and would like to ask:

1. Is your work demanding?

2. Anything special that need to bear in mind?

3. Is it difficult to deal with the academic staff? Any advices?

4. How do you feel about your colleagues (admin/supporting staff)?

5. Do you consider it a good job for working mothers? (in terms of working hours, prospect, flexibility).

Please share!

因為本人正搵緊工. 之前一兩個月都有見過某大學(CU,唔知你係唔係CU呢) 的clerical work post. 我申請左幾個位,有一兩個未有回覆. 因我知如果unsuccessful係會有信. 另想問你有冇second in.?初時未通知你, 你知唔知要等成個月?
唔好意思, 太多問題, 因我實在好想入到此校.謝謝你呀.

...... 我申請左幾個位,有一兩個未有回覆. 因我知如果unsuccessful係會有信. Normally they state clearly in the recruitment ad that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted or if you do not receive/hear from them within certain time should consider your application unsuccessful.

另想問你有冇second in.? Yes, there was a second interview.

初時未通知你, 你知唔知要等成個月? I know. Infact they contacted me 2 weeks after the second interview indicated their intention of offer and confirmed the offer later.

Hi, I'm also an EO from one of the institution. Regarding your question,
1. not that demanding as compared with the commercial company.
2. beware of your behaviour and integrity which they concern most, especially when you need to deal with the public (like public relations, academic registry), you need to perform like a professionist in answering questions and if your answer is not per their expectation, you will receive unexpected complaints from the public.
3. No, it's fine to deal with them. The academic staffs are usually good.
4. the supporting staffs are not initiative enough and you need to spend more time to build up the morale especially for those working more than 10 years in the same environment.
5. Working hours are fine. But prospect is not promising. Promotion is not based on the performance and the pay is not that competitve with the market. But if you want to find a stable job, it may be O.K.

Hop the information is helpful. But the above information are only my personal view point and may not apply to all institutions and universities.
