My friends' sons can walk while their babies were 10-11 months. My son wanted to walk and stand up since he was 7 months but until now (12 months), he still needs to hang on the chairs/sofa in order to walk...although he can stand up independently for few seconds.
I guess all babies are unique and different, so no need to worry.
