I am a new member. My twins will be due next April. I'm looking for a good doctor who has good experience with twins delivery. Does anyone know any doctors in Central, Wanchai, Causeway Bay areas??

I'm also a new bk member and a mother of a pair of twin babies (a son & a daughter) who are 4 and half months old now. Dr Macor Wan 尹鎮偉 helped me to deliver the babies by caesarian section. He is fast and accurate in the whole process. Within the first 11 minutes, both my children were born. Totally in about 50 minutes time, the operation finished. His office is in Rm 204, 2/F, St. George Building, 2 Ice House Street, Central, HK. Tel: 28773280. His charge is from HK$15,000 to about HK$30000 depending the class of room you choose in hospital. Anesthetist charges HK$4500 to about HK$8500. But extra 50% will be charged for twins' delivery. It's over 4 months already and even in the first month after birth up till now, I have never felt any pain on the cut on my belly. The cut recovered very well. There is still some dark color but it hasn't turned to a clear scar. For choices of hospital, his operation can be done in most of the private hospital on HK island but in Kowloon only St. Teresa's is available.
The only 2 weaknesses are that you have to wait long time every time you go to have check up at his clinic, some times over one hour. Second, he will wake you up very early in the morning when you're staying in the hospital. You may call his clinic to understand more and updated charges.

Where did you have your delivery? How long did you stay in the hospital? How much did your babies weigh?
Are you a working-mom? Everybody is telling me I may need to quit my job to take care of the twins at least in the first few years. Babies are too small to be taken care by maids. How do you handle in the beginning?
Had Oscar test done yesterday. So relaxed to hear babies are healthy and normal.

Congratulations! Have you got 2 boys or girls?
I delivered my babies at St. Teresa's coz I lived in Kln. But there are a lot of mainland chinese women giving birth when I stayed there. One of my room mates (a mainland chinese) even ate durian 2-3 days after birth :( and many staff came into our room to scold her coz the smell went outside the room thru the ventilation system.
I stayed there for 5 days. My son weighed 4 lbs 13 oz and daughter 4 lbs 15 oz. I gave birth right after 37 weeks so even though they were not so heavy, they were okay.
I'm a working mom. I think I need to save more money to raise 2 babies so I have never planned to quit my job coz it won't be easy to find a job again if you haven't worked for a few years. But if you think your husband's salary is plenty enough to earn the living for the whole family, to be a full-time mom may also be a good choice. I remember on the last day of my leave, I cried a lot because I wouldn't be able to see my babies all day long when I got back to work. And on the first few days after getting back to work, I missed them so much so I looked at their photos very often.
I put my babies at my mom's home and hired a maid there. I took a longer maternity leave (ML + annual leave totally 13 weeks) and stayed at my mom's home during that period. It's not easy at the beginning (1st one and half month) especially when my maid hasn't arrived yet and I just got a 陪月 to help us from 9 to 5. During middle of the night, I (and sometimes my mom as well) needed to wake up to feed my babies. Sometimes they were not willing to sleep and we had to take turn to carry them to walk around in the sitting area for one or two hours. Better days arrived when they were about 2 and half months old, they suddenly slept for the whole night and woke up after 6am. From then on, they usually sleep quite long time (7 - 8 hours) after we feed them at about 9:30 or 10pm the last bottle of milk.
In order not to give birth too early (say before 36 weeks), see if you can ask your doctor to write a letter for you to ask your boss to let you take leave (either sick or no pay leave) earlier from 33 weeks onward coz you're carrying twins and the chance of miscarriage will be much higher, etc. Thanks God I have got a good boss who allowed me to take earlier leave and I stayed at home and lied on bed most of the time so my babies can be born after 37 weeks.
Get relaxed, don't be nervous and your babies will be fine. From 20 to 28 weeks, you may go outside to have a walk. From 28 weeks onwards, you may be walking quite slowly coz one of the babies' head will turn upside down pressing your nerve of your thigh. Hope this info helps.

Either boys or girls are good. The most important thing is that they are your kids, the loving angels....
My 陪月 is okay. But I didn't try her cooking skills coz my mom cooked all the meals for me. 陪月 only gave advice on what to prepare for my meals. For taking care of babies, she is skillful but since she couldn't handle 2 babies at one time when they cried together. So sometimes my mom or I needed to take care of one of them. But at least you may sleep for some time during daytime coz you'll need to wake up may be once or twice every night.
